Jura Range
I have seen numerous mentions of Jura Range wool kilts in the past. Can someone please explain to me the differences and the definition.
Cheers

I think you will find that these are a product of 'Scottish Kilts' Colin. "Jura" appears to be a name they give to a particular range of casual kilts:
Made-to-measure, 5 yard, machine stitched, 15oz worsted wool, choice of 100 tartans, £150.00.
Go to: www.scottishkilts.net and click on "Kilts".
No. of Kilts: 102. "Title": Lord Hamish Bicknell, Laird of Lochaber / Life Member: The Scottish Tartans Authority / Life Member: The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society / Member: The Ardbeg Committee / My NEW Photo Album: Sadly, and with great regret, it seems my extensive and comprehensive album may now have been lost forever!/

I have also seen Jura listed from a material supplier. I am just wondering if it is a different type of wool. http://www.martonmills.com/pure_wool.htm

Ham, I believe they also make an 8 yard in Jura Range. I just wonder if it isn't a matter of which mill it comes from.
Everything in excess! To enjoy the flavor of life take big bites. Moderation is for monks.

Jura is Marton Mill's 16 oz wool. Other mills call it "Strome" (loch)or "HW" (Edgar) or "W100" (Strath) or "Torridon" (Bat).
I would take a "Jura Kilt" to mean that the material is 16 oz wool from MM.
