    I hate posts like this one! Not that the news isn't appreciated, but it always saddens me to hear of the passing of someone like that. It seems that in my own lifetime we've lost so many good and worthy things like regimental kiltmakers or local tobacconists, or the butcher on the corner.

    It seems the future will be dominated by big-box stores and multi-national conglomerates.

    Sad news indeed!

    sad news ... however, there IS a (former) regimental kiltmaker, who is alive and a member here ( as has been previously mentioned): Robert MacDonald, who use to be kiltmaker for the Seaforth Highlanders; so not ALL the regimental kiltmakers have "crossed the bar".
