Milwaukee Kilt Maker?
I'm looking for a kilt for my wedding and was trying to find a local kilt maker. Anyone here know of anybody in the Milwaukee area (or anywhere in Wisconsin, Chicago, etc.)
Thanks for the help!

There are quite a few kiltmakers on this forum who do a dandy job making kilts "remotely". You might consider them if you can't find someone local.

Stillwater is in Richfield. You might want to give them a call.
I am easily moved for sympathy for dogs, far more so than for humans, because dogs do not understand. There is no way to explain that you will return, that the vet will make it all better, that they cannot go shooting today because that is not what today is about. They cannot work out that their misery is finite and will some time end, and so their misery is magnified.

I have LOTS of Scottish connections in MKE, but I know of no kilt makers.

Off the peg or bespoke? Stillwater offers superfast shipping (1-2 days). For a little more money and longer wait (6-8 weeks) Rocky at USAKilts will custom build your first kilt and with more tartan choices. For an additional $25 Rocky is willing for the lovely Kelly to loose sleep so that you could have it in two weeks (or less).

This lady is over in Ohio
http://www.macdonald-kilts.com/ No relation that I know of. Says she makes up kilts for the St. Andrew's Society of Milwaukee. Maybe you could get a look at her work from one of them.
Celtic Croft is over in Minnesota and has great service

I have one of their kilts, a 13 oz weathered Gordon. Fine craftsmanship.

I know of one in Chicago, Modern Scottish Enterprises. Check out this link.

They have been around for quite awhile, but I have not seen any of their work.
Good Luck!

Your post prompted me to think of the guy that KiltedCodeWarrior once spoke about...I think that it was this guy but he is, alas, not in Wisconsin but rather in Michigan...

Angus Harvey is a great guy! My first kilt was made by him. He's in Michigan, but every summer he has a booth at the Bristol Renaissance Faire in Kenosha, WI.
