My New Tank, a Macdonald Lord of the Isles by Kathy's Kilts

Finally connected with her, she's working shows. She does have all them official Scot certifications and went to kilt making school in Scotland. She even went back to learn how to do box pleats to the stripe for military kilts..apparently a dying art.

She has at least four kilt pattern swatch books from mills in Scotland so she ought to be able to find most anything.

I'm doing a traditional 13oz. She's working my belly into it somehow. Cost is about $445 with a down payment of $185 (I gave her more to be done with most of it). Jones time is only 4 to 6 weeks...would suspect the later this time of year.

The tartan is a beautiful green on green with white.

Had a very nice and detailed phone conversation with her. Feel very assured and comfortable. Hoping for the best.

If any of you kilted brothers are deep traditionalists, she knows how to do it how you want it. She's a custom house, no intention of doing anything more than quality work one kilt at a time.

I've been emailing with her, and as soon as I save up a bit more green, she will be making a traditional kilt for me in Gordon modern, 8 yd, 16oz from House of Edgar.

I look forward to talking to her on the phone. From the emails I have sent from work, she seems to be a very nice, genuinely dedicated kiltmaker.

Paychecks just aren't coming fast enough
