Needing Custom Weave Tartan?
Say, Bub, have ya been jonesin' for a new tank, but the tartan ya want isn't sittin' on a shelf?
Ya, say ya need a tartan, but ya don't wanna shoulder the entire cost for a custom weave?
Does yer kiltmaker say they can get yer custom tartan, but ya gotta pay for 10 yards of double width cloth when yer kilt only needs 4 yards?
Is that what's troublin' ya, Bubba?
Well, cheer up, Bub, cuz Arizona Kilts has come up with a solution for yer dee-lemma!!!
That's right, Graeme & Jackie have created a new service on their website where folks looking for a custom weave tartan can find others looking for a custom weave tartan. And if you find someone looking for the same custom weave tartan as you, then you can split the cost & save some dough!
This new service can be a central location for folks to go looking for a custom weave tartan - whether you plan on making the kilt yourself, are a kiltmaker making a kilt for someone else or are looking for a custom tartan AND someone to make the kilt (Arizona Kilts can help with that, too).
Sounds like a good idea to me.

That is a great idea to keep costs down for custom stuff.
There is 1 mill however that only requires a 4 meter single width piece for an order (although it's not as cheap as stock tartans, it is available).

Dalgleish... Matt and Barb (and USAK) use them for a lot of small lengths of material. Not sure if they deal "direct to public" or if they're just wholesalers (have to have a business to deal with them).

Seems to me I asked Barb that question when this came up a while ago and she said anyone can order - I'll see if I can find the link when I get home. If anyone knows please chime in!
Edit...
Found it

I agree with Rocky R ,DCD do supply 4 metre single width ,which is okay if you want a 4 yard (metre) kilt or tartan for another project ,however this page was designed to hopefully provide special weave, hard to get tartans at affordable prices !!!!

Sorry... I wasn't trying to steal the thunder there...
I think it's a GREAT idea and a GREAT service for those wanting to get in touch with others wanting to order a smaller length of fabric. If you're looking to pinch a few pennies and want to see if others like the same tartan, check them out!
Again... sorry to put this off topic. I'll shut up now.
BTW... welcome to the site!
