    Prince Charlie Jacket on eBay

I get updates on listings of my favorite eBay searches and sellers by eMail and this one arrived today. I've already got a Prince Charlie jacket and vest but I figure others might be interested in one.

It's eBay item #8245441048 and the link is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ADME:B:SS:US:1

Bidding starts at only $43.51 USD or 25 pounds.

And they allow you to choose the size.

With six days to go it will be interesting to see where the bidding stops. Too bad shipping/handling gets crazy once you're working with someone out of the country. Wonder if good old VAT kicks in too - no mention of it.

VAT isn't applicable for US purchasers, if that makes a difference.

Bryan...at least it hasn't on things I've purchased before...

I've never had it applied to any of my purchases from Europe. The only thing we have to worry about is Customs and that doesn't kick in until it reachs $200 in value (and many eBay sellers know to take care of that on their declarations).

No, I actually got my Prince Charlie from Hector Russell. This auction came up in a search for kilt jackets. I'm always on the lookout for a new daywear jacket.

    Prince Charlie Jackets...

    Hi, gang,

    Well....I don't have a Prince Charlie...yet...

I got a bunch of kilt stuff on eBay this past year, and so far, I've either been damn lucky or just at the right place/time. So far, I have nailed two Harris Tweed day jackets and a nice black Argyle jacket. And, one antique tweed jacket and vest (ca. 1930s) which are being rebuilt by a great local seamstress - it needed resizing and a new lining. Very satisfied withal.

I did want to get a Prince Charlie. I thought of all the PC's which are on eBay. I guess they're the standard for evening dress. Then, I ran across several sites which offered the Regulation Doublet. Now, this is as formal as PC, but has a different cut, gauntlet cuffs which I prefer, and those little touches on the bottom hem which look like large "tabs" or whatever, like tails, I guess. These are, I suppose, worn by the military types for formal occasions? In any event, I figured, if I got one of these, it would look different than the standard PC and still be formal. I wanted to be just a bit different than the norm, so I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival in the post!

I've received my 8-yd. MacNicol Modern Hunting and my 8-yd. MacNicol Dress Red is in the works, probably to show up in a month. I got all this in process before I ran across X MARKS. This is like icing on the cake!!!!!!
Nothing is worn under the kilt...everything works just fine!!

    Hi!

Does Hector Russell have a website? If so, what's the address?

Has anyone purchased one of these PC jackets from this vendor? Can we get a full review? Inquiring minds want to know!
