Something New From Kathy Lare

My Macdonald of the Isles Weathered Hunting kilt arrived with something new. Kathy is now putting another label on the inside waistband.

How many old kilts have turned up and the finders have little or no clue where it came from.

The label shows who made the kilt, who the kilt was made for, and what size the kilt is. Pretty cool idea I think.

This is in addition to the usual Traditional Kiltmaker's Guild label and the Lochcarron label for the wool.

It also means you don't have to get remeasured each time because you can't remember. Now, of course, changes in measurements are another matter entirely.

I like that!

Though as long as a Kathy Lare kilt will probably last, I think she should use a 4-digit year so future generations will know which century as well as the year it was made.

Red, I thought the SAME thing...

And Jay, I'm guessing since the label is so well attached to the kilt lining the tartan will always be right there...or maybe its a test question if someone steals it. She does put the tartan on the sort of registration card that comes with the kilt.

I'm going to guess she's printing on fabric labels using a laser printer. Here's an example of some labels that will accommodate this.
