    Prom Night Photos

WarPriest's new post got me to wondering if we've already won the kilts at proms headbutting with school officials...hopefully.

But in case there are still pockets of bureaucratic power and control out there...seems it would be convenient to have a kilt pic section for young men wearing their kilts to proms.

That way, if a young man had a hassle he'd have a place to go to get a slew of pics of other young men allowed to wear their kilts to proms and maybe...just maybe...the school folks would see how kilts add to and enhance proms rather than disrupt them.

I wasnt aware that wearing a kilt to prom was an issue with school officials. I know in my high school the persecution would have come from other students, not the administration. I wore a "punked" out jacket and corduroys along with my pinstriped Chuck Taylors to my junior prom. Pretty much anything flew.

I think it depends on the dress code of your prom. Mine, and most of the one around here, was formal dress - you had to wear a tuxedo. That didn't stop people from showing up in all white tailcoats (completely inappropriate, IMHO, both for a black-tie event and because tailcoats should not BE white!), but everyone had to dress up.

Somebody has to keep the tuxedo rental places in business between weddings.

I did go kilted to the Junior-Senior Formal in college, when I was Junior class president. I probably could have in HS, but I didn't think of it then.

As a soon to be kilted prom-goer, i think that is a great idea. I know one person wore a kilt two years ago, so, based on precedents, I feel confident I will be fine. However, those who have issues getting approval to do that should have a way of proving their wonts worthy.

Did you find mine? I think they're up in two or three places. I can send you a link if they've disappeared.
