    2.5" belt for Workman's Utilikilt

Folks, just recently joined up here, thanks again for the charming welcome, it's much appreciated.
Now I'm after a bit of advice- I'm looking for a belt to fit my Workman's utilikilt. 32ish waist. I find the traditional leather belt and buckle doesn't look right, so I am looking for recommendations for something industrial/chunky/military etc to suit.

    Cheers

    Ainslie

Try out Cavscout at Oconee Leather Works He does a great job and is wonderful to work with...
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

I don't know what you might find over there, but here in the U.S. we have big hardware stores that sell very nice workmans belts. We have True Value, Home Depot, Lowes. Do you have similar hardware/self help stores available? If not, you can search out some very nice belts on-line, or go the next step up and go to our own Oconee Leather Works - I think he advertises here, but I don't see him listed today. His web-site is ..here..

Hello, Ainslie, and from the Big Apple!

I'm not sure if you are referring to a Utilikilt by the company of that name in the Northwestern U.S.A. If so, based on their product, I'd recommend looking at a webbed belt, if you don't want leather.

I do wear a tooled leather belt with mine, though, and am very happy with the look.

Try a military surplus store for an ex-army web belt.

You could get a studded belt from an "alternative" store. Or, as MacMillan said, go buy a tool/utility belt. I have one that I wear all the time.

Cavscout's belts are great but too dressy for my workman's UK. A DIY store should have a selection of wide "work" belts in webbing or leather which should look good. Many prefer the 2-prong roller buckle for a more "industrial" look.

You can also try www.sportsmansguide.com as they have lots of world wide military surplus and such.

If you can't find it locally, give eBay a try.

I have 2 Leather belts that I wear with my Utilikilts. The first one was from a military surplus store and it was very inexpensive. I bought my second one from a fetish store. They made it for me as they normally don't stock belt in that width. Don't be nervous when you go there. just tell them what you need, and they will fix it up for you.
