    Alligator Sporran

A lot of you may know that I really really want a sporran made out of an alligator paw. Well I dont know if I will ever get one but I might have an acceptible alternative.

I am bidding on this auction:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=6739976281

Anyone here think they can turn that into a cool sporran? If I will who will make it into a sporran for me?

I still like the claw better, but that will make a cool sporran. Freelander?

it gives me the creep. If you won the bid, I assume you are going to take the purse apart and reconstruct it, right?

I am not going to do anything with it except send it to someone else who knows what they are doing. I am not skilled at such endeavors. But I figure that whoever is up for the challenge will probably take it apart and reconstruct it.

Dude, that it really, really cool.
Make a great "head-on" sporran for sure.
    I've personally always wanted a "head-on"
dachsund sporran. Or maybe a house cat.
I hope you can get somebody to make it
and post pics when you do. Good luck.

Good luck in your attempt to acquire it Hank! It would definetly be a part of any collection that is rare and unique.

As long as the leather is still pliable, it should be okay. It's hard to tell from the picture, but I didn't see any flaking... yet.

You can tell from the back of the bag just where the design should go. Hopefully, there's enough "material" on the under-front and sides to complete a whole sporran. If you're lucky, it comes with an appropriate lining too!

After mending goalie pads and baseball gloves, this stuff looks like it's not going to be much of a problem at all to work on. Make sure that the "builder" uses a synthetic binding since this is old, treated animal skin.
