    Another Navajo Sgian Dubh

So last weekend on the way home stopped deep on the Navajo Reservation at Cameron Trading Post. Its a big tourist spot, huge store with lots of stuff. Asked after any "small knives" and the clerk found this lovely baby for me. Bought it for $75 which I think is a great price for a hand crafted item. Handle is antler. Carving is a bear paw design. Its a heavy one though, solid brass there on the thingie in the middle.

Its only my 5th Sgian Dubh. I'm not really addicted yet...

Be careful with that bear medicine, Ron...
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Sweet knife Ron! You are going to need some pretty tough hose for that dude. Those sharp and shiny's are addictive.

    Love it!

Every time I'm visiting the in-laws in NM, I'm always looking for stuff like that...to sort of show "both sides" of stuff I'm into. Probably not a great idea from a purists point of view, but I like the thought of wearing a kilt for my Scottish side, wearing all the leather stuff I made for my leatherworker side, and something like that to show my interest in the American southwest...

Ain't easy to find. Have only found two in six years of kilting. When I've found them they were being sold as small knives for boys. Whatever - its a Sgain Dubh to me. Found both at trading posts.

I love knives too. That one is quite nice. What type of sheath did it come with? Is it comfortable in the hose?
