    Belt Buckles

After some extensive searching on the net for attractive, tasteful, stylish buckles, I settled on the harp and dragon. Always open to other suggestions, but their quality seems exceptional, their shipping very conservative and their service (my buckles sent out the same day as ordered for 5.00) hard to beat.

I ordered an number 8, but couldn't resist the Sutton Hoo buckle as well! Now to find the best source for a good, heavy leather belt in the 1 5/8 inch width.

Nice choice. I like the number 8 you chose. I just recently bought a new buckle last week, but i just went down to a local store that sells t-shirts, buckles, hats, belts, posters, etc. And they actually had about 3 or 4 cool looking buckles. As soon as I upload my pictures I'll post a picture of it.

Thanks for the cool link though. I hadn't heard of the harp and dragon before.

No. 8 is a great choice, I like it!

I have BU2, that looks like a great place to buy buckles etc. I didn't know the buckle I bought came in a set with cuff links, kilt pin and sighan dhu or I might have ordered the whole set. That's a good price on the set.

Received my buckle this morning. Now THAT's great service. It IS beautiful! These are pewter with a good percentage of tin and antimony to add hardness, totally unlike many a "pewter" item I have received from elsewhere that were very soft due to being mostly lead..not something you would want next to your skin. Too, these are crafted in Cornwall and the quality really shows. Can't wait for my Sutton Hoo model which I ordered on a whim the second day..something about that strain of Godwin Saxon blood!

I have the buckle they label BU12. Not too many places in the U.S. carry that one.

    Best regards,

The trouble with photo images is that you really can't always discern the fine details. I LOVED the true open weave of the first buckle and thought that the Sutton Hoo style was the same. It is not. Attractive yes, but not the open weave style. Instead, it is more the typical flat casting with the pattern polished against a darker cast background.
