    Black boots?

I'm looking to purchase a pair of black boots for my casual kilt outings. I'm wondering what the rest of you have in the way of black boots?? Comfort, style price??

Hard to go wrong with Doc Martens, but I am biased.

I have to go with the Doc Martin's or stop by your favorite Army & Navy Surplus store. These types of places usually have a good selection of combat and or police style black boots in several different materials (leather, gortex, nylon, etc.).

Also might want to check Sportsman’s Guide (www.sportsmansguide.com). They sometimes have some great worldwide military surplus and may be able to pick up a pair of German tanker boots or such, which look really cool with a kilt.

Grinders... they're LIKE Doc's but made MUCH BETTER.

I prefer the "Bulldog Model" of 10 hole boot. They're the same price range as Doc's... $125 for a pair of 10 hole steel tipped.

I like the Sketchers Logger myself. Confortable strong and rather inexspensive in comparison.

    Those look like Doc Knockoffs.

Seriously though. Do they have something similar to the Air-Wear sole? Good arch support? They are nice enough to catch my eye.

I have always liked Docs not for the looks, but specifically for what they did for my feet... And their construction. On a wet greasy kitchen floor, I never once lost my footing with Docs... Which says a lot. How do these hold up or do you know?

Sketchers have lousy arch support and bad stitching in my experience. You get what you pay for.

Almost a little too goth/pseudo-punk for me.... although I would probably wear them if I had them....
