Does anyone know where I could find instructions for making a traditional highland bonnet or a Balmoral? A website would be best.
Everything in excess! To enjoy the flavor of life take big bites. Moderation is for monks.
Wish I could help you bubba, but I just purchased mine. If I find a website, I will send it your way. Was there not a sewing pattern where one of the guys had a balmoral on?
Colin, I saw that pattern. The bonnet was more Italian Ren period. A purely costume thing of if it looks close good enough.
Is this any help Bubba? http://members.aol.com/randwhit/patterns.htm
Joe There are many ways to get from A to B. It's not the destination, it's the journey that counts.

Bubba, I found this article whilst searching the Scotswars site, and thought you might want to take a look at it: http://www.scotwars.com/html/equip_bonnetpattern.htm Cheers, T.
Thanks. I saved that til I find someone that knits. What I'm thinking of is a pattern I can cut out of fabric, probably wool.
