    Boy Scout Uniform Garters

    Sock garters, that is.

I had these show up today in one of my eBay searches. I think they were mentioned awhile back in the "kilted scouts" thread.

They would give a different look ...
I am easily moved for sympathy for dogs, far more so than for humans, because dogs do not understand. There is no way to explain that you will return, that the vet will make it all better, that they cannot go shooting today because that is not what today is about. They cannot work out that their misery is finite and will some time end, and so their misery is magnified.

    Soy Scout Garters!

Boy, that brings back memories. I wore Scout knee socks with my B.S. shorts back when I was a Scout in the '60's. I was just wondering the other day if there was ever a Boy Scout (US/UK, etc) kilt or tartan. Of course, back in those days, we could never get away with wearing a kilt--especially in Texas!

    Cheers,

Wow, haven't seen any of those in a long time!

I was always trying to find the gaiters. To bad they're not a part of the uniform anymore. I still might get a pair, though I'm not in uniform much anymore (shool+work=less scouting, unfortunately).

    sock garters...

Those are similar to the garters that the Almost Unwearoutable Sock Company makes for their hose.

As for an official BSA tartan, the Clan MacLaren has a special relationship with the scouting movement that allows any holders of a Wood badge to wear their tartan.

    Cheers,

    Todd
