    British Greatcoat

Bought this very cheap last year - about $15.00 but can't recall the vendor...one of those surplus companies that's always sending out catalogs. Had to sew the buttons on myself...its obviously an Army greatcoat but the buttons were Navy buttons...okay...makes it unique.

Can tell you that over the last year the "surplus smell" is gone (thanks for the tips guys) and that it is toasty warm. You can see the length is even longer than the kilt.

Pics are at Cedar Ridge, Arizona on the Navajo reservation. Those are the Echo Cliffs in the background. This may be the first British greatcoat to visit the rezlands....well, maybe.

Nice photos Ron, looks a bit cool there, I bet it's nice and warm.

Okay, finally found the old information. It was $20.00 + shipping from www.sportsmansguide.com

The stuff comes and goes. You can search their website for greatcoats and get some info or click on their military surplus tab and find others.

SportsmanGuide always has such fun stuff to look through in their cataloge. I'll have to keep my eyes open for the coats. Thanks for posting the link.

Great coat! The British Army made some darn fine coats.

There's a guy in Leeds that wears that same style coat. Pair that with the fedora and long hair, some of my friends have thought he was me (my coat's older, but similar). Can't say I got mine as cheap, though, even on eBay.

Bah! Of course. I had been looking at some Royal Navy officer's coats just before reading this.

LOL A good reason Nick. By the way I lovethe greatcoat. If it had navy buttons it may have been navy field gear. Us sailors get that sometimes.
