    brown leathers

I've seen brown sporrans, and brown belts, but until today I had never seen brown brogues. The guy in question had kilt with alot of brown and purple in the tartan. He wore brown hose with matching tartan flashes and really nice brown shoes complete with the long laces.
Anyway...just how common is brown formal footwear? Or because it's brown not cosidered formal at all? All I know is that the gentleman in question looked very sharp.
Inside me is a thin woman screaming to get out. But I can usually shut the b*tch up with chocolate!

    Brown leathers...

Hi! Oh, you hit a mark here...

I've been looking high and low for English Tan ghillies. I saw a pair on a site located in Texas, but the available sizes were either VERY small or VERY large, as the fella was clearing out old stock. And, he wouldn't tell me where he got them .

So, I contacted William Duncan at The Kilt and Thistle out in OR, and he's made some progress, according to his last e-mail to me several weeks ago. It looks like he's got a shoemaker in the loop who will do an order of various sizes for him in English Tan ghillies, so there's hope on the horizon.

I would THINK that brown ghillies would be perfect daywear, rather than black which would be for more formal situations.

You can find the Kilt and Thistle with a Google search. Nice website and great folks to deal with.
Nothing is worn under the kilt...everything works just fine!!

The brown ghillies are available out there somewhere, I have seen a few people wearing them.
