I purchased the belt over the winter as i was shrinking out of some belts mainly for jeans or shorts, but was thinking it might look pretty nice in the casual Kilt dept, what's the consensus?  |

As he mentioned, keepers might help. Also, if the belt is stiff and new, it might need to be worked in a bit so that it folds over more easily.

The extra leather makes it thicker on one side for an awkward look and feel. I tried adjusting it to the proper size, removed the buckle and then put something heavy (a treadmill) on the loop where the buckle goes to try to flatten it out so the buckle doesn't angle so much. I met with middling success.

I've seen 1.5" (regular pants size) belts look OK on a casual kilt that sits at the pants waist but I think a wider belt looks better...

Might be that their belt loops on their jeans are that size as a standard, so all their belts are a bit wider.
