    caubeen...

Do you mean over which eye the badge is worn, Casey?

Over the Right eye is the style of the London Irish, and Over the left eye (the traditional way that bonnets and berets are worn in the Commonwealth & the US forces) is how the Royal Irish Rifles wear them.

    I prefer the right myself.

    Cheers,

    T.

Left eye man, myself. So far, no badge for me.

I think that this is a piece that requires some personalization and styling (Breaking in like a good western hat.). That is what I was refering to.

Casey, where did you order your caubeen from? I'm thinking of investing in one someday.

I ordered it from Savanah Kilts:

Excellent quality. It even has a small hidden velcro adjustment to fine tune the size.

Don't have one. Wouldn't mind getting one though.

I think I have the answer to my questions.

As I was driving to work this morning I saw one of our Armed Forces wearing the Canadian Army version of a caubeen.

I will try this method. I have come to a conclusion that a badge and/or cockles my be necessary for the proper look.
