Cell Dubh
On my drive in to school last week I was trying to figure where I could put my cell phone and eventually slipped it into my kilt hose. I kept it there all day and forgot about it until it started to ring and vibrate toward the end of the school day. My students were puzzled when I reached down and started to fiddle around with my hose. I pulled out the cell and said, "There you are." It was my wife wanting to know when I would be heading home.

Haha, I've done that before too.
You're a teacher and they let you wear you kilt to school? That's great!

Sadly, as soon as I read "cell" and "dubh" I thight it was a Scottish shank. Guess I spent too much time at the jail.
(I have that same phone. I just put it in my nightsalker.)

I used to do that to when I had a candy bar body styled phone. Now I have one with a full keyboard and it is just to big. think blackberry like.

I know some other people have had problems with wearing kilts to work, and from my experience schools are not always the most accepting when it comes to alternative clothing.

With cell phones getting smaller and smaller, this becomes a natural place.

I am pretty lucky to have an administration at school that is pretty accepting. They are willing to work with us as long as how we dress does not interfere with learning atmosphere. I've worked at a school (business) where your complete ensemble had to meet exacting standards. I'm too much of an instigator/renegade to go in lock step with that now. Like I said, and I agree totally, as long as what we wear does not detract from the learning environment go for it. Get kilted!
