They have a claymore for $275 US as well as a budget one for under $80. Depends on the quality you want how much it'll cost.

I have a budget Claymore from Shetland Piper also, only $80 USD. Very good for a day at the ren-fair, but you do get what you pay for! (Does this sound familiar?) I've received very good customer service from them in the past.

I don't have a Claymore, but I have 2 Replica Katana from the Highlander TV series. I got my first one @ a flea Market and my second one was a gift from my wife.

If you're a total uber-nerd (sorry, no umlauts on my keyboard), such as myself, then you could get a replica Lord of the Rings sword...not a claymore, but definitely nice.

I have a 40" Celtic sword hanging on the wall. My wife gave it too me as a gift this past chirstmas. The place I have found that has the best prices on swords is ebay. I haven't bought from them yet, but they sure have the selection and the prices.

I have several of the "Lord Of The Rings Swords" as well as a few others hanging on my walls. I have found a huge variation in quality of swords offered on the net and on Ebay so unless you know the maker you might want to tread lightly. I have also found that you can buy swords at wholesale prices on tthe net so don't disregard it altogether. One Stop Knife Shop recently had a Cold Steel basket hilt Scottish broadsword at the price of a decorative wall hanger. If you're going to have a sword why not have a functional one? You might also check out Museum Replicas. They have several choices of swords and dirks that might fit your needs and they too advertise that their swords are accurate functional pieces thhat are based on actual historic pieces. I haven't purchased from them as yet but I'm considering it.

Be careful though, in addition to the obvious physical danger of swords I've found that they can be nearly as addictive as kilts.

I personally wouldn't get a sword unless it was fully functional, but that's just me :-)
I highly suggest that you look on Ebay.....I've bought many knick-knacks on there and never had any problems. Just make sure to click on the seller's feedback rating to see if they have had any complaints from buyers.
If all that you want is a wall hanger, go ahead and get one of the claymores in the US$30-$40 range. You'll get an impressive hunk of wood and steel which feels great in your hand, but wouldn't cut vegemite :-)
You're in the trades, and you're probably good with your hands.....If you find that you have a few basic tools and some time in the evenings, I suggest you make one yourself. Feel free to Private message me any time and I'll answer any questions you may have.
