    Cold Steel Sgain Dubh

This comes up every now and then, but I stumbled on these while looking for other stuff. Thought someone might have need of a good contemporary blade

Thanks for the link I was looking at those before, its a nice modern take on a sgian dubh IMHO.

I own two of these; they make for a servicable daily sgain dubh, and a better than fair boot knife.

    Bryan...but they aren't very dressy...

Sgian "Leatherman?" I have been know to stick a Leatherman in my hose at times. Like the really ornamental ones, but this as a functional carbon steel blade looks nice.

Mine came from the first run of the knife: longish blade, took a good edge, high carbon steel. Have a care NOT to stain it: you won't be getting the stain out of this type of steel (the blade on mine is just under 5").

Bryan...the Recon Tanto from ColdSteel is pretty impressive, too...

Having stalked the elusive Cold Steel Mini-Culloden to no avail, it's good of you to post the link. I understand that this is the replacement for the Mini-Culloden and that the EXTREMELY expensive Calledonian Edge is still in production...and if you've got the bucks for that one then guid on ye.

I haven't seen the new version in person, but prefer the old mini-Culloden's styling. The old models come up on eBay from time to time. I got mine second hand at a good price from a seller on bladeforums.com
