    Contemporary Sgian Dubh

For those with the "New Style" Kilts I found this on one of my favorite blade manufacturers. Anything from cold steel is top knotch. They have another called, ugh, the braveheart that is actual steel, this one is carbon. Kilt worthy? I would say so.

Yup, cold steel makes some pretty nice blades. The carbon blade would definately be slim and lightweight enough to carry without the dreaded "hose-sag" that some report. I'd certainly want a good sheath to carry that one in as they are very sharp knives.

when i typed carbon i should have specified PLASTIC, haha. These are a "Fiberglass Concoction." Which means they are not "steel" at all.

It really is an interesting Sgian though, it would be a good addition to the collection.

I would like to point out that altho these are "plastic" they are NOT toys, or "sgian don'ts" or somthing you would want to wear when a knife is inappropriate - especially not in an airport, where the TSA lads are likely to assume you are trying to sneak a weapon in. These are real knives, altho not as sharp or durable as steel, they are quite functional. I have one myself.

Yes, getting caught with that in your sock in an airport is likely to lead to a lengthy interview and a thorough cavity search!!! And not the nice kind!

Hopefully in your first post, you only have a problem with the name of the blade. I own that one and find it to be a very fine tool. It looks good with a casual outfit and is very high quality. It is equally at home slicing cheese and bread or hemp rope.
