    Dandelion Plant Badge, DYI

So, we at X Marks have adopted the Dandelion as our "plant badge." As many know, I make my own balmorals and have one for the X Marks tartan kilt.
As it now "NEEDS" the new plant badge, I have decided to make one.

I went on-line to get a decent pict of the dandelion. Here is the Wiki article:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dandelion

I went to Walmart and found a decent base:
It is their "Harvest" line and is the 94 cent "Mini Flower With Onion Bush" and has flowers in white, orange, and yellow.

I cut the yellow flowers off the "bush" and then used scissors to "trim" the daisy? flowers into dandelions. I first trimmed off the rounded tips and then cut the petals into strips.

Here is my finished bundle of three "flowers" in my bonnet badge:

The cutting took 10 minutes, tops, project start to finish.

I've looked at those myself wondering if they could be modified to resemble a dandelion. Great job?

Where else can manly men go and discuss the things that interest us -- sewing, flowers, clothes, "is my rump too big", etc.
