Devil Dogs/Docs in Kilts
OO-Rah Brothers,
I was working on a design for a T-shirt to wear either casually with the Leatherneck Tartan or with a Cammo Utility Kilt and came up with this draft.

I know it's a bit rough, but if you guys can provide me with some feedback, I will make adjustments accordingly...It will be done (finished) in the colors of the Leatherneck Tartan...The guy I'm working with has done a lot of bulldogs for the USMC, so that's where we got started.
I was thinking about adding the USMC emblem and a matching fly plaid...Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated...Oh, and by the way, the slogan will read "The Few, The Proud, The Kilted" "USMC"
Thanks,
Chase

That looks pretty good. The only comment I can make is to keep the details simple so that everything shows up well.
As far as color, either make the shirt one of the minor colors of the tartan, or completely neutral.

Yeah, something like that. Try different colors against the tartan and see how they look.

Wonder how it would look with a DI hat?

I'd lose the pipes, just to avoid having to say, "No, I'm not a piper".

A D.I. hat might be pretty cool too.
My main suggestion would be to print it on high quality shirts, something like a Hanes Beefy T. Don't go the Cafe Press route, their shirts are pure crap.
Oh, and I want one, XL please.
.. the kilt had concealed a blaster strapped to one thigh and a knife to the other. He was aware of the present gentle customs against personal weapons, but he felt naked without them. Such customs were nonsense anyhow, foolishment from old women - there was no such thing as "dangerous weapons," only dangerous people.

It's a great start. Can't wait to see some updates. I think the hat is goofy or I'm just not able to figure out what it is.
Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste of death but once. Of all the wonders I yet have heard, it seems to me most strange that men should fear; seeing that death, a necessary end, will come when it will come. --William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar

Sounds like a good idea...I couldn't figure out what the hat was either...Looked like an inflated Beret and Marines don't wear berets...I will add the DI hat and see how it comes out.
