Yep. I wear a lot of earth tones. I have pale skin, green eyes, and dark brown hair so earth tones are the way to go for me. Thats why I ended up choosing Derry tartan over Cork tartan in the end. Derry is autumny whereas Cork isnt as much.

It's that way for me, too, except I have hazel eyes, and my hair has very dark auburn highlights with the dark brown. Fall and pastel colors work best for me, but I can make some winter colors work like gray or black. I have to be real careful with red and orange, though; people don't like to stand next to me in those colors, or yellow...

lol yeah red and orange are a tad bright for me too. Black also washes me out like crazy. I guess that's what happens to us pale people. A roommate of mine had blue undertones and couldn't wear any other colors besides like black, blue, purple, jewel-tones, and wintery colors. lol. Anything summery or springy washed her out like crazy. I have pink undertones.

I have blue undertones, as best as I can figure, but I have brown-ish freckles. Guess you can have several seasons in layers, and my colors fight with each other. I forget why, but a medium to dark blue jacket usually looks good on me.

Okay, the cardigan just arrived, and I think I made a really great choice. My description of its appearance as "beefy" was accurate; I can add "tightly knit", it should shed water like a duck's back. VERY warm. And short-waisted like a bomber jacket, which makes it great for a kilt: I'm at work wearing a suit & tie, and the bottom edge in front when zipped goes down maybe a quarter-inch at most below the buckle of my dress belt. It's perfect.

Interesting blend of yarns, too. The overall effect is light brown, but it's sort of "heathered" with brown, russet, cream, grey, and blue.

It's perfect, in the sense that it's exactly what I wanted it to be, and I love it already!

If anyone's wondering about the manufacturer, it's Brenire in Hawick.

    That's a nice sweater!

I like earthtones, but I can't wear them. Just doesn't work on me very well, no matter what I'm wearing.

Yes, personally love earthtones, to the extent of having "many" garments in khaki, ecru, brown, olive, tan, charcoal...

...it's oft a personal "fight" to add anything bright into the wardrobe.

I just reread the latter poots here and realized just how "earth toney" I've become.

My newest kilt is a Weathered Ulster:

Another favorite for quite a few years is the Weathered Robertson:

Even in a Gordon I was wearing a khaki shirt and lovat green hose.

Last Spring @ the Atlanta Steeplechaise:

I'm really going to have to get me Hunting Robertson and Leatherneck out next time just to change things around!

Yes, I like the earth tones, too. That's why I chose the Buchanan Hunting...

Oops! That didn't come out the way I thought. Here's a close-up on the tartan of my kilt:

Nice looking sweater, Dale. Should do well for you on the cold mornings.

Kicking around the hills or the house, you'll find me in a khaki shirt and Levis. Of course this morning walking the fog covered beach, it was MacGregor of Cardney kilt with a khaki shirt, dark green Wooly Pully, and green hose.

When I was working, depending on the assignment, it would range from dark grey or charcoal suits to location appropriate field wear.
