Picking up on a post that X Marker Seanachie made in a thread on Ghillie Brogues in Feb '10. Quote:

Bottom: Ghillator Croc-style Ghillie Brogue.  Andrew Lenz of "Bagpipe journey" website fame did a hefty review on them (I've mapped to his pictures above, I hope he doesn't mind.)
Although I won't be getting a pair myself as I'm not struck on Ghillies by design, I do think it's a novel idea and for the Ghillie afficionado a viable option as a wet-weather plan.. Although that said, I can see Jock Scot spinning round on his swivvel chair as I write this... hehehehe!

They've been extensively reviewed on Bobdunsire. Seems like mostly positive responses, although it's predominately a pipeband crowd.

I'm personally really torn on these. The idea of plastic 'shoes' gives me the heebie-geebies.
That said, it's always muddy at the festivals, and I'd hate to wear & ruin my really nice brogues (not ghillies) which I bought 20 years ago and are still in wonderful shape.
BTW: the picture you paint of Jock Scot spinning madly at the thought of these gave me quite a giggle

They actually look better than I would have thought. In fact, when I looked at the first picture, I could not tell which shoe was plastic. I own a pair of Croc knockoffs, and they are remarkably comfortable and very convenient in wet weather or mud. I originally bought them to wear in the garden, but I now also wear them when I am painting. They are so comfortable and I don't care if paint drips on them. That said, I don't see myself wearing them in public, but that's just me!

Actually I know almost nothing about ghillie brogues as I have never worn them. So I could hardly comment on something that I know very little about, now could I?

Don't tell us you don't have an opinion about foam shoes. ghillies or no, I can't see you pulling on a pair of foamies. Wellies, certainly, but foamies I find hard to believe.

Though I have to quote many of the members here by saying, "Pictures or it never happened!"
On the subject of the "ghillie-crocs", I have to agree with Jock - I've never been a fan of either type of shoe, so the hybrid version doesn't do much for me.
That being said, they look surprisingly like the real thing, given the materials from which they're made!

Wow. I must REALLY be getting old and turning into a curmudgeon. The idea of plastic shoes sounds just simply batty to me. I know that crocs are ubiquitous in the States, but a croc-ghillie? Perhaps a croc-wing tip for the office? I'm a real fan of comfort, but I'm not sure I'd go so far as to wear mock plastic dress shoes.
You'll have to forgive me on this one. I'm the type of guy with his own shine kit, who shines his own shoes and re-soles them as needed. I still wear my US Navy oxfords I was issued in 1983.

I wouldn't waste my money. I had a pair and an eyelet broke. Sent them back for a replacement. Got the replacements, the eyelet broke. Broke the opposite eyelet so I could still wear them; the eyelet in the second row broke, etc
