    A good weekend for acquisitions!

It has definitely been a good weekend on the accessory front.

When I returned home from work on Friday evening, I had a new sgian from our own Taygrd waiting for me. It has a carved ebony handled with a malachite pommel on a 1095 Damascus blade. It's 7.75" overall with a 4.25" blade. I'd recently purchased one of Taygrd's Axis deer antler handled sgians as a Christmas present for my uncle and was very impressed with the appearance and quality of the knife, so I knew I'd be adding one of his pieces my collection soon. When I saw this one on ebay, I knew i had to have it. Not only am I very pleased with the knife, Taygrd offers great value for money. So cheers to Taygrd for a great product! I'd definitely recommend him for your custom sgian needs, and keep an eye out on ebay, as he frequently offers his wares for sale there. Photo appears below.

In addition to the sgian, I also won an ebay auction for a MOD brass cantled sporran for what I think to be a very reasonable price. Once I receive it, I'll begin the process of having it re-bagged, but I'm very pleased to have finally been able to win one of these auctions. I'll be sure to post photos of the before/after on the sporran.

    Cheers,

    SM

Congratulations, on both. I have been looking for an MOD Sporran for a while, though like you I`ve lost out on them so far. I look forward to seeing the after photos.

Congratulations on the two new items Shaun. Always like the look of Taygrd's knives. I was watching that sporran and I must say that you got it at a fantasic price. I wasn't bidding as I have a few of them now but I was under the impression that the seller was only posting to the UK. You must have a silver tongue.
