Got meeself some nice brown brogues

While wandering around t'interweb this week, I grabbed a pair of brown brogues in a size 10 (UK) with leather upper and rubber sole. The fit is perfect but then I've never had issues buying shoes online. They are available from a number of online shoe-ists including ebay-uk and made by a company called Scimitar.

I bought myself a beautiful pair of brown shoes some years ago that are still going strong so my wife informs me that I don't need any new brown shoes but that's not the point. I've always liked brougues and these were difficult to resist at the price... I picked rubber soles as opposed to leather as my part of the world is famously wet and I figured water resistance was an important consideration. They are good shoes. Good quality leather, nice weight. Accurate stitching and brogue-ing and I spent 10 minutes across the toes on each with a bulling rag and they shine up a treat from straight out the box.

After wearing them all day yesterday, they are very comfy and I'm more than happy with them which is the main thing. If you are considering buying the same, shop around as prices vary considerably.
    Best Regards John

Great looking pups! I want a pair, too. I've been looking around for some months, so I might have to take the plunge now.

Looks perfect! I've been keeping an eye out for a similar pair for myself.

Those are nice! I would love to find something simular for myself, but with my feet being big and wide, I am apprehensive of buying online without being able to try them on first... since shoes vary in size from manufacturer to manufacturer.

    Peacekeeper,
I have had good luck with Shoebuy.com They have a HUGE selection of all kinds of shoes and offer free shipping both ways in case things don't work out with the fit, color etc. They are not just a bargain store, so prices are often times full retail, but they are quite convenient and easy to work with. Hope this helps.

Has the volcanic ash caused you any problems getting to work?
