    Great belt buckles

I M Kilted posted this site a few days ago. I just received two of the Celtic buckles (round Celtic knot fot IM Kilted and rectangular Celtic knot for my son). Wow am I impressed! The quality is superb. Extra heavy pewter with BURLY hardware on the rear. Fast shipping, too.

I don't know how I missed the original post by IM Kilted, but that is some seriously nice hardware! I also liked the bottle opener line of buckles. Talk about practical.

Some nice belts too, but it loooks like most are only 1 1/2" wide. I would prefer closer to 1 3/4", but might have to try one.

Hey TH, how wide a belt are you planning to make for the buckles you received?

That is a sweet sight. Great stuff at a super cheap price.

Yeah, I'm going to have to get one or two of those myself. I'm particularly looking at the "Got Beer" bottle opener buckle. I think it would go great at the beer festivals (although you don't really need a bottle opener there ).

Who needs a sporran flask when you can have a belt buckle flask?

Well I just measured the loop on the rear of the buckles and they both measure 1.75", so that will be the strap width. I wish they were a bit wider.

If you had a mind too could you not use a wider belt and just cut the leather thinner right where it connects to the buckle so that the buckle covers it? The loose end could lie under the buckle side and be held in place with a keeper.
    Is that even possible?

    Cheers! Bill

Bill, I had that same thought. I think it should work, although I am not a leather worker myself, but you probably could not go a lot wider without it looking unbalanced.
