    Grouse Claw Kilt Pin

    I've been slack getting photos of this one posted. Father's Day I found a wrapped box beside my place setting for breakfast. Inside was a box from the Wallace Collection with a pewter grouse claw kilt pin. Apparently while I was being measured for the new kilt by the Wizard of BC some other action was going on behind my back.

    Anyway, this one is not only gorgeous, but heavy - weighs in at 1.2 oz - so I don't expect the outer apron to fly in the wind. The stones are red, possibly garnet. Wore it for the first time Saturday.

    If the colour in the photo is correct the lower stone looks to be an amethyst.
