Hair sporran sizing
I am looking at a pre-owned (actually estimated at about 100 years old) hair sporran. The dimensions are 5" across and 14" long (including the length of hair.
This seems a bit small for a hair sporran. Could this have been for a child?
Thanks, in advance...

I have one I bought that came from a gentleman whose dad was in the Canadian BW, and it is much larger then the dimensions you've given.

Yes, I have fallen for the same difficulty. A bit misleading sometimes. The one I looked at was at a crocodile purse site. Fortunately, more expert members here alerted me.

Yes, it is a childs. I believe that I was looking at the same one on eBay. That size (roughly 4-5"across) is the big indicator.

Yep...sound like the same one.
Not looking for a collection, or an investment, so I guess I won't be bidding on this one.
