    Hand Knit Aran Kilt Hose

An overdue review, but the weather is finally getting cold enough for these toasty hose. Label calls them Janette Murray Handknits - handknitted Aran kilt sox 100% wool. Color is Woodland.

This pair was handknit by a Mrs. Anderson in her own home in Edinburgh.

They come from Rocky at USA Kilts for $60 U.S. which seems very fair compared to the price of machine knit Lewis kilt hose. Different things. Just saying if I can spring for a pair of machine knit hose I can spring for a pair of hand knit hose too.

I was worried they were so thick that maybe I couldn't get my shoes on with them. As you can see, that wasn't a problem.

You can see they fit so well I forgot to use garter ties. These hose aren't gonna slip down on me.

The sgian dubh is my new Navajo made blade that I posted about last month.

That's the bargain of the century, $60 for a pair of handknit hose, and they're beautiful hose, too!

Good looking hose Ron. And, I am liking that Arizona tartan more and more, every time I see it!

    Ooooo!!! Very nice Ron!
A pair of those would look good with my Macdonell of Keppoch (Ancient) box pleat!

Congratulations Ron. They are truly outstanding! Did you order them from Scotland, or through a dealer in the U.S.?

    Hi Oddern,

Ron mentioned that he got them thru Rocky at USA Kilts:

    Question for Ron / Rocky:
How do you select the colour you desire?

Very nice, Ron. I've recently discovered the wonders of hand-knit chunky hose too, and I'm loving it.

$60 is indeed a great price!

I've a question or two for Rocky also:

Are custom orders an option? Say, for a double turn-over cuff, or a variation in the cable pattern?

    I love those. I want a pair.
I got this sweater for Christmas and when I saw these hose I thought I should get a pair to match. Still want a pair but I'm having second thoughts about the matching color.
    Opinions???
