    Having a jacket made?

I found a really good deal on 4 yards of charcoal colored wool. I can't decide if I want to make a self-color kilt out of it, or have a jacket/vest made. My big issue right now is, where do I find somebody to make my a jacket with my materials?

    Any ideas?

You could try Freedom Kilts. Check out the sub-forum to see posts of Steve's jacket. It is more of a casual style but they are very nice.

A good tailor should be able to make your jacket with ease.

I agree, but unless your tailor understands the finer points of "cutting" a kilt jacket, the end result may disappoint. Might I suggest that you go "armed "with lots of pictures of kilt jackets and very importantly, how it hangs with the kilt, so that your tailor can SEE what you want and need.

You could always ask Kevin. He seems to be the undisputed jacket king.

Suggestion, since tailors don't come cheap nowadays (in fact they never did! I know!) you might even rent a jacket of the style to show him/her exactly what you are after. This outfit in GA http://www.atlantakilts.com/PriceGuide.htm rents them for $55-$65 consider it insurance.

Excellent suggestion. The rental cost would definitely be money well spent.
