Thumbs up Head wear [bonnets or otherwise]

I was wondering what head wear every one wears when casualy kilted, out in public doing just ordinary every day things, as i find the Balmoral or Glengarry a little too formal. To be honest i prefer the military bonnet or cap which seems to fall in between. What do you think.

    Thumbs up

Thanks Graham, I also have a Basque beret which i always wore before i became fully kilted again, think i'll stick to that. I wont have to worry about a cap badge then. Its been a little dificult trying to get the traditionalist out of me and into the more casual approach, but thanks to you guys it's getting easier. Have gone fully kilted now for three weeks and there will be no turning back. :-D

Now these Glens, of the Toronto Scottish, would match the XMarks tartan beautifully. Some of the boys in the late '80s

My navy blue Balmoral was my first purchase - and I love it! My first kilt came several months after that. Like others the lawn is looking pretty sparse up there - so I usually wear something for protection from the sun and snow here in Idaho.

Since my Balmoral is wool - I don't know how its going to work come summer time - I may need an alternative... but I think the old standby baseball cap just ain't gonna work with a kilt.

I have a tan beret and a tweed flat cap. The flat cap works pretty well with the kilt.

Shoot, I wear my Balmoral at least two times a week, more if the weather is cold (wore it today, as a matter of fact). I'm thinking real hard about a grey highland "bunnet" from Matt's Museum gift shop, too

These guys as well. Not the same colour dicing as the TS, but different coloured Glens and Balmorals.
