I love it!
Riverkilt, we altecackers have been there, done that, and have no need to prove anything. Tho I 'm sure (as an unmarried man) you have no objection to demonstrating your masculinity to the occasional lass!

Who you calling olde? Haha!
Seriously, it's just because wool takes more care to wash and much longer to iron, so I want to keep it clean.
I would have had more trouble keeping a kilt clean as a teen!
Kilts are garments, not costumes!

So far, the best idea I've found out of all the devices comes from a company called Smart Carry (thanks to a PM from the Rabble). The device was designed for an item we don't mention on this board, but it also has a money pocket in the back and the areas normally used for holding the items we don't mention on this board can also be used for other things. Nice part is it would be placed much as a sporran, only under the kilt.
Trying to figure out if it would work hanging from my side under a kilt too.
Or is all this too much paranoia and I should just wear my regular sporran and trust I won't be accosted by pickpockets and cut-and-run thieves on the streets of Quintana Roo....

Okay, think I have the answer. Been thinking it through and finally came up with what I think is a workable idea. Took an old pair of cutoff jeans. Cut away everything but the waistband and the front pockets. Result is sorta like a garter belt but it works. I just button it around my waist and the two jean front pockets hang down the side of my leg just like with a kilt with pockets - only they're under the kilt. Put my USA Kilts casual over it and there's nothing to show its under there. When I want access I can just hike the side of kilt up and reach down in....maybe best done in private both for modesty and to avoid giving away the secret. Cost was zero since I already had the raggedy old pair of cut off jeans.
