    Highland Brigade Outfitters

Has anyone here had any dealings with Highland Brigade? They have a wonderful website but I was wondering about the quality of their products.

I do not know about their products but I did notice that they have not renewed their site copyright since 2003.

Their stuff is gorgeous if pricey, although if true vintage probably reasonable.
    cheers

Wow.. It is pricey. Seems to cater to the more "military reenactment" style of dress rather than the more contemporary "I'm Scottish and pants are evil" syle.

Using email, I tried to ask questions about their sporrans, but got a brusque, incomplete response. At a later time, I asked if they made doublets for other periods and got no response. Good luck.

Always be extra careful with on line middlemen....as you are being here.

Their main page says they are reproductions.

They fail the "Sporran test" no dimensions for their expensive sporrans are given other than the length (but not width) of one sporran. For the money they seek for their fancy sporrans one would think dimensions would be a basic part of the product information.

Their products section mentions kilts, but no kilts are shown - unless I missed something. More concern in that they don't mention what fabric their coats are made of. Even if we are to assume they are wool, would be nice to have that verified...

Would be good to confirm stuff like that before ordering...but from the above posts they don't seem much interested in the individual client. More the period movie orders.
