Hose Toppers
When X Markers get together, we of course discuss kilts and all things kilting. There was no exception last month up in Dumfries. At some point during a kilt basting master-class, I mentioned to Steve Ashton that Argyle hose were going to cost a fortune as I need a pair for each kilt. He said 'Why not give BigMikey's Hose Toppers a go before spending out on expensive hose'.
So, when I got back to Norfolk, I contacted BigMikey. He lives on one side of the world and I live on the other, so there was always a 12 hour delay in passing information. In spite of this the deal was done in next to no time at all. BigMikey gave me a time frame of two weeks but he had a family event suddenly and pulled out all the stops. From first PM to him to when the Hose Toppers were in my hands - 8 days. You don't get that kind of service from most retailers.
I didn't really know what to expect, but I certainly got more than I dreamt of.
Best we have a picture:

I told Mike the tartan was 'Flower of Scotland', we agreed a colour swatch and I left the design to him. That picture doesn't give a proper perspective, so lets have another picture:

Just look how thick they are! They would bulk up anybody's legs!
Time for some posed pictures of the Toppers:

Note how well BigMikey has matched the colours.

And a couple of pictures of them in action at the Harpenden Highland Gathering:

Me with a gentleman from Serbia (I'm the one in the kilt). He kept on asking "Do they do this every weekend?".

This is Peter from Kenya.
Conclusion:
I have two pairs of hose that would match this kilt, with the Hose Toppers, my options have increased to four.
Do they do the job - YES
Do they match the Kilt - YES
Was delivery fast - Oh YES
Will I be buying more - Oh YES I will
Hose Toppers add a bit of bling to any outfit for very little cost - an easy way of lifting your dress without the expense. Finally, but not leastly BigMikey is one of our own. If we can support his efforts, we should.
Regards
Chas

I agree that Big Mikey's service is absolutely amazing. I ordered some hose toppers to match my tartan and now, just one day later, they are completed and in the post to me. Wow!
Here they are...

His traditional garter ties are also just great. I cannot recommend him too much!
But while he was seeking with thimbles and care, a Bandersnatch swiftly drew nigh
And grabbed at the Banker, who shrieked in despair, for he knew it was useless to fly.
