    Food for thought...

    Hi Jacques!
Really like the fabric you’ve chosen to go with your McLeod, and think the brown herringbone will also be a stunner! I would also suggest that you give the Harris tweeds at House of Tartan (Crief) a look....I have a midnight blue (shown in my profile photo), and one that they call “Gorse” that I wear with my Lamont modern, Lamont Weathered, and Erskine Kilts.
They are all bespoke, and their tailors are magicians.

Nice choice! I recently picked up a vintage Brown tweed which I think looks great with Macleod of Harris.

Iím with those who say not to focus on the color of the kilt in choosing the jacket and/vest. In my previous life on this forum someone, I forget who, suggested the kilt be considered the same way we consider a pair of jeans when youíre putting an outfit together. The majority of people have only one or two tartans they wear, and there is an incredible variety of accessories, jackets, vests, sweaters, etc. to wear with it. When youíre dressing in jeans (or even khakis, for that matter) you donít usually worry about color matching to your trousers. You treat them almost as though they are a neutral color. This is how I have come to understand how most kilted people treat their kilt. Itís a given, they didnít necessarily pick the colors themselves, and theyíll wear whatever appeals to them with it, regardless of color. We in the States have become too worried about making sure everything matches. Relax a little. Youíll live longer.
