    Inexpensive 2" wide belts

www.cabelas.com has walnut brown or black 2" wide belts for $23.99 USD.

Brown comes with CS buckle, black comes with US oval buckle.

Not sure if the buckles can be removed and replaced.

Here's the link for the brown buckle

Search for the black belt under product
    number CF-21-2559

Yup, they're meant to be replicas for the War Between the States.

Ron, if those are the standard "issue" type belts then the buckles are set on with teeth and can be very easily removed. About 10 seconds and a pair of pliers should do the trick.

Anyone that's interested might also check some of the sutler type supply places. Just type civil war uniform or sutler into any search engine. I use Winchester Sutler and Dixie Gun Works (great supply of buckles) for most of my skirmishing uniform needs. Or go here and check the links page... http://www.n-ssa.org/ They have a whole list of sutlers.

Also, if anyone is into shooting or historical re-enactments, the Dixie catalog is well worth the 5 bucks it costs. Just the historical content alone is worth more.

I have one of these Ranger belts. :
    http://www.duluthtrading.com/items/92613+DBR+032.asp

It's dark brown, size 48. The belt is 2" wide and the buckle is made small so that it doesn't bite into your gut when you're working. It's quite a piece of construction. The underlapping (is that a word?) end of the belt goes through a loop in the back of the overlapping part. The leather is thick and nylon-stitched. The belt will probably outlive you, your heirs and their heirs.

I've lost so much weight though that I'm on the last hole and it's still too big. It's a bit stressed, but still in good condition.

I'll post a more detailed picture in my gallery.

Send me a private message if you want it.

That's a pretty good looking belt. Hmmm, I wonder how that barnstormer jacket would look with a kilt?

The barnstormer jacket looks a lot like the old bomber jacket my father-in-law gave me. It looks great with a kilt!
