    Interesting gaiters

Found these on eBay today, WWII US Army ski leggings. They wouldn't be hard to make for anyone with sewing experience, and they would be great hiking. I like my modern nylon gaiters, but I'd like something for use in the forge as well, and nylon is a distinct "NO!".

Even if you don't like spats, gaiters are great for hiking. Even with boots little rocks always seem to find their way into shoes.

    Very nice.
I have a nice pair of tweed gaiters that come almost all the way up to my knee. I got them for hiking in bad weather and through thorny places and they've more than done their job.
A shorter pair like these might be in order.

Cool. I'm going to have to come up with something like that for my cactus farming and my ceramics work.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
