    Isle of Skye Hose

OK, apart from McMurdo's lovely hand knit hose what are the rabble's opinions on the colour of hose to wear with the Isle of Skye tartan. I'm sure lovat green would work, but are there any other suggestions, particularly from those who have seen the tartan up close?

I have worn Lovat Green, Purple, Oatmeal, Black, and of course the aforementioned lovely hand knit hose.

Thanks, I'm not sure if I'm ready for purple.

I can't add any more than that! I do like the few times I've seen matching purple best.

I think Ron has some pics on here somewhere of himself wearing purple Lewis hose with his IoS kilt. Looks great!

I'm looking at McMurdo's pic now and trying to think what shades of Lewis hose I'd choose. Either of the Loden or Lovat greens would match the greens in the tartan. Purple is an obvious choice. I think the brown and grey would both work, also. And, of course, the bison (tan or oatmeal) and charcoal are always nice options.

So really, there are a lot of potential color combinations there!

I like wearing my Lovat Green ones, although I could also wear Oatmeal, plain CREAM, or my handknit cream ones.

Matt... what, you haven't asked you wife for a pair of Argyl Hose to match the IOS?!?!

Thanks for all the input. Again purple is a tough one for me. I have a pair of lovat green and a pair of oatmeal that I bought from Rocky at Bethlehem so I guess I'll start with those. I didn't think about grey working with the IoS, maybe I need to pick up a pair of those as well.

Here's what I've pics of so far.

    Tan

    Lovat green

And my favorite - PURPLE Lewis Hose from Matt.

And here's one with the white/ecru traditional garter ties with the purple Lewis hose.

Don't be afraid of purple hose, looks great. And the purple Lewis hose are a very good match for the purple in the Isle of Skye tartan...okay, the 16 ounce Strome Isle of Skye tartan woven by Lochcarron....

    Ron,

Great pics. The tan and lovat are more my speed but the purple Lewis do look good on you.
