    J Higgins Argyle and vest

I promise...I will post pix on this one but cut me some slack and wait until after the event that I have to attend on 10/25.

Got the basic black Argyle and waistcoat from J Higgins. Ordered last Thursday, received the package this past Tuesday. After some discussion and apprehension, I ordered a size 42 Regular...chest measurement is 42 and the past two suits and sportcoats that I've bought that fit well have been 42R's. Time being of the essence, I was hoping that it would be right on and it most definitely is! I suppose that any variation in your build might influence going up or down a size but in this case it's as close to a perfect fit as I would hope to get without trying it on.

Quality is very good...very black and very neat.

I would recommend it and thank the guys at J Higgins for putting up with my hesitation about what size to go with. I guess, when in doubt, order your regular size...at least when it's being made in Kansas.

    Best

    Thanks for the review.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I am in agreement with ya on the sizing from Higgin's. The jackets I have ordered have always been right on the money, couldn't get much better fit unless it was tailored. Glad to hear your jacket fits well

Glad you got what you wanted.

My black barathea Argyll and vest as well as a charcoal tweed one, both ordered over the phone from Higgins came and fit perfectly. The guy I spoke with actually asked things like if I had one shoulder lower than the other or one arm longer than the other when he was taking my order (mine were customs as I am a 52XL--something they don't have on the rack usually). I have posted pics of mine here several times but here is my favorite of the black barathea.

    and my charcoal Argyll:

Higgins does good work at reasonable prices and no fears about getting tagged with mulit-hundred dollar customs fees if the manufacturer forgets and sends your stuff through a customs taking shipper like Fedex or DHL. I am sure you will like yours as much as I like my stuff.

    Enjoy.
