Just ordered an Argyle from J Higgins

I have a company Christmas party coming up at the end of January (yeah...I know it's weird, but that's what happens when you work in hospitality). I decided that I wanted to wear my Irish National TANK, which I haven't worn in over a year. I need to lose a bit of weight before it fits again, but that's a whole other story. I also want to look fairly decent, so I started looking at coats several days ago. I decided upon an Argyle, since it is not as formal as a PC. I think I can get more use out of it. After reading several threads on Argyles and import duties (I was originally going to order from ScotWeb), I finally made up my mind and just ordered an Argyle and waistcoat from J Higgins.

Thanks to everyone who had made such great comments about their service and products. That really helped in my decision.

Pics will follow once I receive the goods.

    Brian,

Are you getting a matching vest as well?

In the long run this will give you a lot more options regarding formality

    Cheers

I'm interested in how hefty the fabric feels and those type of things that you can't really get from a picture. I hope that you do let us know because this seemed like a very reasonable option for an Argyle and waistcoat.

Got my Argyll and waistcoat customed from Higgins as part of a large order this time last year. Am very happy with the look, fit, and feel of my argyll and waistcoat ourtfit. I need the waistcoat because of a prominent belly and long torso which make most ties (other than bowties) look like Laurel and Hardy ties on me, and the waistcoat downplays the belly and tames the ties well at the same time.

Well, 2 Days later and my jacket just arrived. You can't beat that. The only problem is, it doesn't fit. It's too snug. I even measured per their instructions. So...I'll be sending it back for an exchange. It's a nice jacket and waistcoat, though. I'm very happy with it.
