| | | Kilt Hose and Garters
Check out the House of Labhran ebay store for some very good buys on hose and garters. They even have big boy sizes for those of us with what my dad called a "good understanding," i.e., big feet. http://stores.ebay.com/House-of-Labhran?_rdc=1

Jim
I just ordered two pair of Cheviot Rannoch hose in ancient blue and cinnamon from their ebay store last week, and got lucky catching a 20% off sale on one of the pairs with discounted shipping on both combined. I have a couple other Rannock pairs I really like, and anticipate these fitting into the rainbow of color I see when I open my sock box soon. The cinnamon was a bit of a flyer purchase, hoping that its color will match that of my incoming Ancient Caledonia Keltoi Kingussie style 16oz kilt, due any day now. If it works photos will be forthcoming. If not, and no other matches are discovered in the kilt closet seredipitously, the cinnamons may be on the sale thread section in coming weeks.
Labhran's prices are pretty comparable if not a wee bit better than most other online vendors of similar wares, IMHO, and they are nice folks to deal with.

I see that labhran1 is here now. I guess maybe that's Tim with whom I've dealt several times over the years, and I also attest to the pleasant nature of all transactions I've had in the past.
I like these hose better than most I've seen (except for the snazzy new custom pair I'll soon reveal), and I plan to get some pretty soon.

Thanks. | If I may but in and for what it is worth, my brother in law, he is a MacDonnell(his spelling!)of Keppoch and dark green hose looks pretty good with his (very) ancient Keppoch tartan.

Thanks. | This may or may not help depending on the actual colors in your ancient kilt colorway. I just recieved an Ancient Caledonia kilt where the red stripe in the modern has clearly become orange in the ancient colorway. I happened to match it to the HoL Cheviot Cinnamon hose and it is a fairly good match with the hose just sitting on top of the kilt. Have not actually put the hose on underneath the kilt but think it will look fine. If the red in your Ancient MacDonnell of Keppoch is more orange than red you might consider it as another option. So far, just holding the cinnamon hose up against several other ancient colorway kilts (two diffent ancient MacDonalds tartans) the orange color of the cinnamon hose looks great.
When I get a chance I will post pics of both the kilt and various matching hose I now have.
Jeff

Yes Jeff, please post pictures when you can
Quite right Jock, I usually spell it Macdonnell too, lately though for some reason I keep going back & forth on it
Dark green w/ ancient? Interesting. I have a pair of such & will keep that in mind. Thanks!
