Let's see High end, Matt Newsome. Low end, W Brewin

Brewin's are OK if you need inexpensive for everyday. Otherwise, I highly recommend Matt.

A second on Matt's store, http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/hose.htm I have many pairs of their 'standard' kilt hose.

I shelled out for a nice pair of the lovat green Lewis Kilt Hose from the scottish tartan museam gift store, and I must say, they're the most comfortable kilt hose i've ever worn, and machine washable to boot (just dont machine dry them)

As much as it pained me to spend $50 on a pair of socks, I'd do it again when i get a different kilt needing a different color hose than the ones I already have.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Some really good hose can be found at Sock-Dreams. They have very usable long wearing hose that don't cost an arm and a leg.

I've purchased a lot of hose from The Scotland Yard and found the quality to be higher than average.

Piper's kilt hose in many different colors from scottishlion----$22 a pair and the colored ones are a good wool mix while all of them have large full tops with the popcorn like pattern.

Agreed. I should think of Rocky more frequently. This has recently led to some confusion.

My usual thought about Rocky is for tartan items since he has pretty much what seems like swatches of every available tartan. Not to mention he has an excellent selection of tweed for Argyll jackets.

Hamilton Dry Goods Store is another option. http://www.hamiltondrygoods.com/ They have Kilt Hose, Lindsey Wolsey Socks, and Cable Knit Kilt Hose. I have 2 pair of the cable knit, and I love them.
