Kilt Hose recommendations with R'lyeh sett

Since so many on this forum are waiting on delivery of their kilts in the R'lyeh (Cthulu) tartan, I thought I would snap a few photos of this tartan paired with various colors of kilt hose.

I press my kilts mere inches away from where most of my hose are stored, and these are just a few colors that caught my eye.

These are all going to be House of Cheviot hose (because that's what I have).

First, the dark loden color in the Rannoch line. This is a very, very deep shade of green, which I think tones with the dominant color in the R'lyeh tartan rather well.

Next up, ancient green Lewis hose.

Charcoal grey goes with just about anything, though I think it looks especially nice with this tartan. Here are a pair of Lewis hose, as well as the Tain dress hose.

Did someone say purple? The purple stripes in this tartan are a bit lighter than the purple yarns used by House of Cheviot, but I don't think they look that bad together. This is a pair of Tain hose, but the same color is available in Rannoch.

Lastly, here is a pair of Sandringham hose in Aubergine, which is also a very purply color.

If anyone has any other colors of House of Cheviot hose they would like to see paired with this tartan, just let me know. And for those of you who already have your R'lyeh kilts, feel free to post your own hose of choice!

...thanks, Matt. Just what I needed- Something else to spend money on.

That dark loden is insane! *rimshot*

    Really, Ryan?

I think the aubergine hose look the best with this tartan. I'm looking forward to seeing some of these kilts live and in person.

Love all of these choices, especially the dark loden and the aubergine. The gray is very sublte and sophisticated. Now I'm jonesing for skeins and skeins of yarn!

With a little luck I'll get my camera functioning properly again today and will FINALLY get to take pix of Matt's handywork on my R'lyeh tartan kilt with the hose I usually wear - lovat blue.
