    Kilt Passport...

The Scottish Tartans Authority (STA) will soon be offering a "kilt passport" to record the major details in the life of you & your kilt:

I certainly plan to order one -- what a brilliant idea!

    Cheers!

I like it too, but isn't this issued by the kiltmaker rather than something we can go out and order?

Too true, Colin! However, I think we'll need a passport for every kilt. Although my kilts are already numbered and dated, and I have a photo CD for each one to which new photos of the relevant kilt are added as they are taken, the passport will provide worthwhile additional provenance for each one. I'll be keeping an eye open regarding the availability of these.

At one time, I considered keeping a card index of my kilts, but never got around to setting it up.

    kilt passport...

    Graham,

The STA will be selling them in their on-line shop for those who already have kilts, but they will also be available to kilt makers to "issue" with their newly-made ones.

    Cheers!
