Kilt pin issue sorted
Had a mind to source a Kilt pin in my preferred brooch style for my upcoming wedding where I will be wearing Royal Air Force Tartan. This is an acknowledgement of the former service of both the bride and groom. now my service was in the RAF Regiment whose motto is PER ARDUA,through adversity. taken from the Per Ardua Ad Astra of the RAF.
I found this...

Interesting idea. I have been thinking about adapting a beret badge for a kilt pin for my forth coming raf tartan kilt

Its easy enough gettin a hold of one I have a few spares laying around and Lossie is my parent station so I could quite easly pop in to stores with some beer tokens.
Its just the act of attatchin it to my kilt I havent figured you yet.
That pin of yours really Is fantatastic though.

I would not be surprised if there were local unit level trappings that would be fit for purpose. If it is of interest i have just paid for a chrome buckle that has a cap badge fitted to it, this is likely to be surplus to requirements if you fancy it.
regarding the cap badge as a kilt pin, I suggest nipping off the cotter pins and having a small pin araldited on vertically. sadly they could not be brazed on to a staybrite badge although brass queens crown should do it....
