The Kilter: Kilt carrier.

In my searching, I saw this little gadget. I'm not sure what the difference between this and a regular piece of luggage would be. Not to mention I have quite a collection of kilt goodies I would want to bring along.

Anyway, I ordered one, but would be interested if anyone else has had any knowledge of this.

I've got one. To be honest it's just a suit carrier really. It does the job well though and has plenty of room for all those essential bits and pieces that go to make up the full rig.

My dear wife bought me one for Christmas several years ago, and it is quite nice for carrying all of those bits of kit associated with Highland dress.

Trouble is for flying it can get expensive having an extra piece of luggage and not all airports would allow it to begin with. I just use a pretty big suitcase to get all my kilted stuff in.

Looks fine for other modes of travel though.

Well, I'd probably use it on a train or a car. It beats the old steamer trunk which is DEFINITELY impractical for flying. I'd hate to think of the overweight charge on it.

How much gear can it hold? Could I put a couple of Jackets, Sporrans and Shoes in it for Day and Evening? Or do I have to be a bit more frugal in planning for the Scottish Season?

Does it have a fancy kilt hanger inside like the Kilt Kit does? If so, would like more info on that.

I have traveled many times kilted. I am convinced that rolling the kilt is the best way to pack kilts.

my Grandmother always stored Kilts rolled in a pair of tights.

I guess 3 complete kilt outfits isn't bad - would cover one for a weekend.

I have wondered if anyone has ever used one of these for travel, and would one be able to use either for carry-on with the airlines?
